i was working sunday. nothing new there…but when i got home everyone rushed the door and was all like “look what we found!!” or “dad picked up the squirrel” i didnt know what to think at first but what on earth? haha but sure enough dad did pick up a baby squirrel who had wondered far from his nest in our tree. unfortunately his sibling didnt make it very far after the fall. :(
this would be mr rusty cheeks. since hes not a girl we couldnt name him sandy cheeks like off of spongebob (moms idea)
no those arent sickly ribs showing…just the folds of his very soft fur :)
he does love snuggling. even slept with mom the first night. although me seeing this in the morning wasnt so “Awwww how cute” but more of a “OMG MOM YOUR GONNA SQUISH HIM” since he had managed to snuggle UNDER her.
little boogerrr… climbed all the way up me and then dove head first down my shirt and snuggled real close. babies truely do love to hear a heart beat and feel the warmth of a mother figure.
we have tried to feed him with a water bottle for a cage, an oral syringe, an infant animal bottle, and now with just an eye dropper…seems to like that one a bit better. everyone like to take turns and hold him or feed him. we bought him a milk replacement for puppies like the squirrel website told us to and he seems to be liking it pretty well…think his belly is getting bigger and hes able to poop now…
a few times on me and once on sam. hahaha!
but hes the newest family memeber… still loving on our big squirrel tho ;) ilsa is still the best dog to us :]
