lost and found : kittens

the other night when we let angel out she shot off the deck and right passed the cutest little thing ever. kittens. one ran across the deck and behind the work bench. I yelled for cole that there was a kitten outside. and we brought angel inside and cole went out to try to catch the poor little guy.

I handed him a hotdog thinking maybe we could draw it out that way. it worked! step by step the kitten came out of hiding and once he came out another came up on the deck.

we got them both inside after about an hour of wrestling them through the carpet and boxes

exploring on our way out the door. we ended up taking them to coles grandmas house for a bit to show her. and the kids all loved them.

from grandmas we took them to a humane society. hope they found a good family. both lovely little girls. adorable.

September : month of business

so September I went away to saint Louis for a week or so. went to my grandmas 80th birthday! it was also a trip to see my baby girl ilsa one last time.

she wasn’t doing to well for the last few months and it was time she went to play with my barney. the last day before the vet you could tell that she knew where she was going and that she was happy about it. tried sitting up and smiling. she was a happy girl her last day and it made me feel blessed I could be there one last day

it was a good birthday for grandma. a surprise party with a few friends and family at the church. had a potluck, it was sports themed, just what she likes. she looked so happy. I think she really did have a great time. Cole came up and met some new family members and seemed to enjoy himself.

when we got home we were moved into the room. had to put stuff away and rearrange the room but we were moved in. it was wonderful.

finally here it is december and happy christmas from coles dad we have carpet!!

got furniture from my cousin paul (RIP) and a couch for my birthday from my grandma :)

my little craft desk in the corner and my shelves still in the hall from when we moved stuff for the carpet. gotta find a new spot for it

its perfect. soft and the room stays warm now!

fall Massac oct 15-17 2011

this year Massac I camped away from my family and with the natives. it was a lot of fun and I became closer friends with some of them. Cole spent the week before preparing a way to make us a shelter. we had planned on having a real nice big warm wigwam but our plans to cut bamboo fell through so we had to come up with something last minute.

Meagan decided about a month or so before the event that she wanted to be the unit drummer. and I must say that with little time for practice she was AMAZING!

on sunday mom and cherylls husband got captured and held. mom tried to get away by trying to steal a sword and hold it out against the french. she ended up falling.

my friend Kat from Toulouse came out for the weekend too. was good to see her before she left for her cruise job.
